Along the lines of Jeanne Moreau
Au Fil de Jeanne Moreau is a multidisciplinary artistic project that brings memory, textiles and cinema into dialogue.
Seven years ago, following the death of the actress Jeanne Moreau, the Académie In Vivo received a donation from the Jeanne Moreau Foundation.
This legacy consists of bed sheets, pillowcases and table napkins. Entrusted to us, these fabrics will be given a new life through a social integration workshop for women in Paris called YayeMaye, which specialises in sewing. From these materials, an immersive and collective installation will emerge, combining textile art, video, storytelling and memory.
The project does not seek to freeze Jeanne Moreau in the image of a legend, but rather to explore what she represents on a universal level: the freedom to be oneself, the power of the feminine, and creativity as an act of life. It aims to give other women a voice, bringing the intimate into dialogue with the collective, fabric with words, and remembrance with reinvention.

It aims to give other women a voice, bringing the intimate into dialogue with the collective, fabric with words, and remembrance with reinvention. The metaphor of weaving, like that of the Fates in Roman mythology, who spun the destinies of human beings, resonates deeply with the mission of social integration workshops: to support women on their journey towards greater independence and autonomy.
The embroidery and sewing work carried out on Jeanne Moreau’s fabrics also situates this project within the long history of women’s labour and creativity.
